This week, a major scrap supplier in the US offered HMS 80:20 (1&2) quoted at US$375/ton C&F to Taiwan, rising by US$13/ton from a week ago.

It's known that the Taiwanese steelmakers tried to negotiate the price with the US scrap supplier but they failed.

Industry sources said that the high purchasing prices from Southeast Asia have supported the US scrap supplier to raise prices further.

It's learned that the Indonesian buyers purchased shredded scraps from the US with prices of US$410/ton C&F.
